Insectified

It felt weird drawing a classroom scene again.  It's actually been a long time!  As you may have guessed, today starts something I like to do every chapter, and that's take you through a typical (or not-so-typical) school day at Super U.  The students' first period of the day is Languages of the Known Cosmos with Alien Ghost.  It's probably hard to go through your day when you begin it by having languages both domestic and alien mentally injected into your cerebral cortex.
Alien Ghost, like the other faculty, is a former superhero.  But being not of this world, his human
interaction is generally lacking in subtlety.  Still, if you need to comprehend the language of the Krillian Fish-Beetles pronto, he's your man.

Neuropathy

Ah, that joke never gets old.  Or maybe it does? I don't know.  You be the judge!

Yesterday I tried something new.  I opened a Google Hangout and shared my screen while I drew.  A few of you popped in and out (thanks!), and I had a few other random viewers throughout the day / night as well.  I enjoyed it, and I think I'll do it more often.  So, at least for now, on Mondays and Wednesdays I may open a Hangout while I'm doing my thing.  I'll post the address to said Hangout on Facebook and Twitter when I begin, if you're interested.
Unfortunately, doing it this way, there doesn't seem to be a way to speed up the footage, so it's kind of long and tedious to watch.  Nevertheless, here they are.

Lastly, but not leastly, the poll at the bottom of the site is closing at the end of Thursday.  Vote for which you character you want to see more of!  Last I checked, Daemon was way in the lead, but there hadn't been too many votes.  And the main character had none?  Really?  That's not entirely true, actually.  A few people told me their favorite was Aiden and _____, so for the purposes of the poll they chose _____.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and see you again on Thursday!

The Walters Files: Alien Ghost

I think Alien Ghost is a fan-favorite.  I know he's my dad's favorite, anyway.  He's my take on the Vision / Martian Manhunter character archetype.  He's really just a haphazardly-assembled collection of particles who keeps his form intact and his clothes on with low-level telekinetic abilities.  Ghost's personality is more machine than man; he's basically emotionless, and doesn't have much regard for human behavior.  That's not to say he's immoral; he more or less operates just fine in society, and he has good intentions.
Jason had a good concept for his origin, making him an accidental by-product of a villain's scheme... a villain that I may just end up using in the very near future...

After all the crazy stuff going on in Super U. lately, I remembered suddenly that, oh yeah, these are students going to superhero college!  Maybe it's time they get back in class.

Welcome, by the way, to the first Thursday edition of Super U.!  Remember, the comic is now posted twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we still have Saturday Super Stories, too.

Advertising still seems to be going really well.  Like, yesterday we had 84 page views.  We didn't even post anything yesterday!  The ads have already been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, which is rad.  So, sorry to keep repeating myself here, but for all newcomers to the site, please check out The Archives over yonder to help you get caught up.

Also you can Bookface and the Google and even the U-tubez.  Help me spread some Super U. love!  Thanks!

Languages of the Known Cosmos with Alien Ghost

At Super U., classes have begun.,

I'd blog more today, but honestly, I'm in such a foul mood, I don't want to spoil any of your Christmas cheer.  That is, if you have any to spoil.  So far, I've seen none.  One need only observe the nearly-barren space on my wall reserved for received Christmas cards.  Around here, anyway, in the most magical place in the world (or so I'm told), people seem to only be even bigger assholes than usual this time of year.  It's painfully difficult to feel any sort of joy when you experience a shopping center parking lot at Christmastime.  It puts a foul taste in your mouth that takes an untold amount of eggnog to wash away.

Here's to hoping next year is better than this one.
